Imagine watching a commercial of the Aston Martin Vanquish speeding along a winding country road in a row of side-by-side HD panels or 4K displays on the showroom floor of a car dealership. Talk about an immersive advertising opportunity. Mercury set to work doing just this, producing commercials to double as digital signage for St. Louis Motorcars, one of the country’s only luxury car dealerships that sports seven premium brands, including Aston Martin, Lotus, Lamborghini, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Bugatti and Maserati. The spots feature the Aston Martin Vanquish, an ultra-luxury car with a $300,000 base price. We pulled out all the stops for the film shoot to create jaw-cropping beauty shots, from the v12 engine to the sleek exterior and a million hand stitches for the leather interior. We even collaborated with camera manufacturer RED to shoot with two additional RED Epic cameras so they could feature our footage in promotional efforts for the company’s new REDRAY 4K Cinema player. And our behind-the-scenes short film documented the whole process, from creative brief to final cut. For both car and film enthusiasts, it was like being a kid in a candy store.
